Story

The Mamma Mia story takes place on a fictional Greek island, where Sophie will soon marry her fiance, Sky, and wants her father to walk her down the aisle. Sophie and her mother, Donna, a former rockstar of a local band, don’t know who Sophie’s father is, and Donna doesn’t divulge much information. Sophie snoops around and discovers three possible contenders whom she invites to the island without telling Donna. 

Of course, Donna is taken by surprise to see her former partners in the same place as fresh sparks fly between her and Sam. Whilst Sophie is figuring out who is her father, she begins reconsidering her planned marriage to, wondering if marrying Sky is the right choice at 20 years old.

Catherine Johnson crafted this Mamma Mia! Broadway classic jukebox musical to immortalize ABBA’s discography in a tale about love.
